How much wallpaper do I need?
It's important to order the correct number of rolls, as colors can vary between lots. Each roll covers approximately 45-50 square feet, but this can vary depending on several considerations. Measure the height and width of your wall(s), and use our wallpaper calculator below to determine how many rolls you should order. Please note that our calculators do not work for murals (contact support@hyggeandwest.com for help).
Wallpaper calculator
Enter the height and width measurements for each wall you plan to wallpaper. The square footage of doors and windows rarely factors into the calculation unless it is a significant portion of the wall.
Frequently asked questions
We currently offer our patterns in three different formats. All of our papers are highly durable and washable, and both our traditional and pre-pasted wallpapers are Class A fire-rated.
Our traditional wallpapers are hand screen printed in Chicago on American-made paper. These papers have a hand painted look and texture and we have the most pattern and color options available in this format. These papers work in nearly any application. You can watch how our wallpapers are made in this video.
Our pre-pasted wallpapers are digitally printed on PVC-free paper. These papers are also GREENGUARD certified. Paste is not needed to install these papers, which work in nearly any application a traditional paper would work.
Lastly, our peel and stick wallpapers are also digitally printed. These papers have an adhesive backing that does not require any kind of paste to install, and can be removed and repositioned as needed. Peel and stick wallpaper is great for kids’ spaces, dorms, rentals, or any other temporary installation.
Your lot number can be found on the white sticker affixed to the black label that is wrapped around your roll(s). This is the only place the lot number exists, so please be sure to keep this label or make note of the lot number somewhere safe.
We print in small lots and can't guarantee a 100% color match between each print lot. If in doubt, it's best to order an extra roll. If you end up not needing it, we are happy to accept returns of unopened rolls within 30 days of delivery. If you need to order more wallpaper from a specific lot number, please put that lot number into the "Special Instructions and Lot Number Request" box during checkout.
Our rolls are considered DOUBLE rolls, which means that each roll is 30’ long (a single roll is 15’ long). If your project requires two double rolls, for example, you should order two of our rolls. If you need two single rolls, order just one of our rolls.
If you are papering a wall with windows and/or doors, please note that square footage rarely factors into the calculation, unless it is a significant portion of the wall. In the vast majority of instances, we suggest including the space occupied by windows and doors as part of your total wall width.
