Before & After: Bengal Sunrise Nursery
When we heard the news that our friend Miranda Jones (of Galanter & Jones, famously known for their heated outdoor furniture that does indeed keep buns warm—and stylish!) was having a baby, we were so delighted for her. And we were truly honored when she said she wanted to put up some H&W in the nursery! We jumped at the chance to help her, especially when she landed on our Bengal Sunrise Mural, as we’d never personally installed it before and were eager to test it out.
No matter how many times you install wallpaper, the first strip is always a little nerve-wracking, and that was definitely the case here. Bengal Sunrise is sold as a pre-pasted paper; you simply soak each strip in water to activate the paste. Note to readers: be sure to soak the paper evenly and make sure all the paste is activated before trying to apply to the wall. Learn from our mistakes!
Once you nail the soaking process and apply the first strip, the rest goes up pretty quickly and easily. Before we hung the final strip, we were sure to sign the wall and leave the baby-to-be a sweet little note!

What a transformation! With minimal effort and a few strips of our mural, Miranda's nursery was turned into an enchanting jungle, ready to whisk her baby off into dreamland. Adorable! Here’s Miranda meeting the monkey. We were so elated with how the wall turned out!
Never one to miss a reveal, Christiana's trusty wallpaper helper, Otis, used the opportunity to show us his best lion impression. We gave him an F for assisting, a C for behaving politely in a guest’s home, and a A+ for looking handsome.
We had such a great time helping Miranda get her space ready for her little bundle. We love imagining all the precious moments, big and small, that will play out against this fun background that will grow along with her baby for years to come.
Fast forward a month—meet Max! He was born just a few weeks after we installed the mural and both he and his mama are doing great (and it’s rumored he already loves his wallpaper). Welcome to the world, little one!
